‘Clean foods’ don’t exist, just nutrient-dense foods. Take calorific avocados as an example, though they are nutrient dense they are full of calories. You need to track your calorie intake to ensure you are eating a calorie deficit to lose weight. At LHF we recommend the 80/20 rule, 80% nutrient-dense foods and 20% treats. By allowing yourself to enjoy a treat you are much less likely to binge or quit your fitness nutrition goals. The key thing to remember is to track your calories and ensure you are eating a calorie deficit if you are aiming to lose fat.
